SuperConcepts head announces departure

SuperConcepts Lara Bourguignon

The head of SuperConcepts Lara Bourguignon will step down from the role before Christmas to take on a consulting role in the new year.

SuperConcepts chief executive Lara Bourguignon will step down from her role with the SMSF administration service provider at the end of this week.

Bourguignon, who is also superannuation, retirement and platforms managing director at AMP Wealth – which owns SuperConcepts – will depart on 18 December, AMP confirmed to selfmanagedsuper.

While a successor has not been named, AMP stated a search process had begun and an interim chief executive would be appointed shortly.

Bourguignon took on the SuperConcepts role in April 2019, picking up from interim chief executive Adrian Urquhart, who stepped into the position in early 2019 after the departure of Natasha Fenech in late 2018.

Prior to joining SuperConcepts, Bourguignon was AMP strategic marketing and customer experience director and in October 2019 her responsibilities were expanded to include the platforms role at AMP Wealth.

At that time, she said SuperConcepts would continue to be run as a stand-alone entity within AMP, which confirmed there were no plans to change that arrangement with the transition to a new chief executive.

Following her departure, Bourguignon will take on a consulting role in the financial services sector.
