SuperConcepts appoints permanent CEO

SMSF administrator SuperConcepts has announced the appointment of a permanent chief executive, with AMP strategic marketing and customer experience director Lara Bourguignon stepping into the role.

Bourguignon will start in the position on 15 April and will succeed interim chief executive Adrian Urquhart, who stepped into that role on 1 February following the departure of Natasha Fenech.

Prior to joining AMP, Bourguignon held a number of roles with National Australia Bank, including corporate super general manager and Plum Financial Services managing director, as well as a range of positions with MLC Australia.

Commenting on the appointment, she said: “SuperConcepts is in a very strong position to continue driving innovations for our customers.”

She added the business was at the forefront of driving favourable outcomes for SMSF trustees.

SuperConcepts chair Richard Grellman thanked Urquhart for his work as interim chief executive, with Urquhart adding he “looked forward to his next challenge”.

“It was a privilege to have led such a great organisation for an interim period knowing they will continue a strong leadership and advocacy role for SMSF trustees,” he said.

The SuperConcepts business is part of AMP’s Australian wealth management division.
