A former Gold Coast property developer who defrauded SMSF investors has been fined for managing a company while in jail and disqualified from doing so.

ASIC has told former clients of Dixon Advisory to lodge a formal complaint so they may be eligible to receive compensation under any schemes launched in the future.

ASIC has banned an adviser who recommended clients use an SMSF to gain illegal early access to their superannuation.

ASIC has taken compliance action against a further eight SMSF auditors by deregistering five and imposing conditions on three between March and June this year.
