Industry body Tax and Super Australia has undergone a rebrand and will now be known as the Institute of Financial Professionals Australia (IFPA) in a move it considers will better reflect its broadening membership base.
The organisation’s membership has evolved from originally supporting tax, accounting and superannuation professionals to now include a wider range of financial services professionals.
Further, the body recognised the increasing convergence of the tax, accounting, superannuation and financial planning services, along with the need to facilitate seamless access for consumers to these practitioners.
The body in its new guise will also aim to serve as a meeting place for practitioners in small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) that will provide an environment where they will be able to network with one another and receive practical, relevant support, technical expertise and practical solutions.
“This rebrand sends a message about what and who we stand for, reflecting our goal to be the association of choice for SME practitioners and advisers. While other associations are focusing on broad political agendas, product providers and larger corporate practices, our objective is to be an approachable and supportive association that listens to members and responds to the needs of the independent practitioner,” IFPA chief executive Pippa McKee noted.
The image associated with the rebrand has been designed to honour the organisation’s 100-year-plus legacy through the use of St George and the dragon – the body’s original logo. A shield has also been incorporated, which represents the IFPA’s purpose to defend and protect.
“Tax and Super Australia began over 100 years ago and has a strong heritage that serves as a foundation for future growth,” IFPA president and chair Stephen Ware noted.
“We wanted to weave our heritage throughout the new brand, while modernising it and our organisation for a new generation of members.”
In April, Tax and Super Australia merged with the Self-managed Independent Superannuation Funds Association.
