Topdocs has updated its online estate planning platform and will offer advisers access to documentation created online or by lawyers as part of a new partnership with a legal services hub.
The legal document provider stated the upgraded service, Topdocs Protect, will provide financial planners and accountants access to a range of documents, including wills and enduring powers of attorney, that are prepared by Topdocs or, for more complex matters, lawyers linked to The Legal Hub.
The Legal Hub is an online service that connects advisers with a panel of law firms that are able to provide full-service estate planning and business succession documentation.
Topdocs director Michael Spakman said the upgrade and partnership gave advisers access to estate planning services for clients without taking on the risks that came with providing legal documentation and advice.
“Topdocs Protect provides upfront and ongoing training for advisers to enable them to facilitate the provision of estate planning services, whilst also providing a central online platform where advisers can submit client information to have wills, enduring powers of attorney and other succession documentation created online, or full service by a panel of lawyers,” Spakman said.
He said Topdocs had created an online will, through an associated legal practice, that advisers could use with clients who had general needs and would encourage more clients to consider their own estate planning.
The Legal Hub director Brant Dillon said: “We are pleased to partner with Topdocs to provide advisers with an easily adoptable estate planning solution for their clients, which not only enables the adviser to generate a revenue stream, but most importantly ensures their clients have proper estate plans in place.”
Topdocs was recently named as the leading trust deed provider in the selfmanagedsuper 2019 SMSF Service Provider Awards which are voted on by SMSF advisers,
