SuperConcepts has replaced the role of chief operating officer through the appointment of two new general managers who have been promoted from within the firm’s own ranks.
The SMSF administration firm has appointed Annette Sheppard as general manager for growth and Yasmin Omar-Meer as general manager for strategy, product and price.
The two new positions were created to replace the role of outgoing chief operating officer James Fitzpatrick as he moves into a new role outside the SMSF sector after three years with SuperConcepts.
The firm restructured its leadership team recently, including the appointment of Lara Bourguignon as chief executive in April. The latest move follows the promotion of Mark Bailey to chief financial offer following the departure of Adrian Urquhart last month. Sherry Midgley was also promoted to general manager of people and culture.
In her new role, Sheppard will oversee key account relationship management, sales and marketing functions for the firm. She was previously national sales manager.
Prior to joining the firm, she worked in accounting and boutique administration firms that serviced SMSFs, and corporate and industry super funds.
Omar-Meer was previously executive manager of marketing and an equity partner in More Super for 10 years. MoreSuper was acquired by SuperConcepts in 2018.
Prior to joining SuperConcepts and More Super, she worked as a director with retail, healthcare and property development groups in South Africa.
SuperConcepts chief executive Lara Bourguignon said: “SuperConcepts has a strong culture of succession planning with our staff and I’m always pleased when we can reward homegrown talent and showcase the depth of talent and SMSF experience we have within the organisation.
“These appointments are a testament to the hard work and commitment that Annette and Yasmin have demonstrated to our organisation and its customers.”
