SuperConcepts names interim CEO

SuperConcepts has named its chief financial officer and general manager of product, Adrian Urquhart, as the firm’s interim chief executive.

Urquhart, who has been with SuperConcepts since early 2016, will step into the role from 1 February as the company continues to seek a permanent replacement for Natasha Fenech, who announced her departure late last year.

SuperConcepts chair Richard Grellman said Urquhart had an intimate knowledge of the services provided by the group and his appointment provided stability and continuity to SuperConcepts’ customers while it continued its search for a permanent chief executive.

Grellman thanked Fenech, who will start in a new role in the insurance sector in late February, for her work, who in turn welcomed the appointment of Urquhart to the interim role.

“Adrian is an outstanding executive leader and stakeholders who have worked with him over the years can take comfort in the decision to have him at the helm of the leadership team going forward,” she said.

Fenech announced her departure in November 2018, after five years in the role, to move to another role as chief executive with an insurer.

She was originally slated to leave SuperConcepts in May 2019, but will now leave at the end of February following the promotion of Urquhart to the interim CEO role.

Commenting at the time of the announcement of her exit, Fenech said: “The five-year plan we started is almost complete and SuperConcepts is ready for fresh leadership to take it through the next phase.”
