New messaging provider outlines offering

An SMSF messaging provider has promised swift transfers and discounted fees for funds affected by the closure of two other providers.

An SMSF messaging provider has promised swift transfers and discounted fees for funds affected by the closure of two other providers.

The most recent addition to the ATO’s SMSF messaging provider register, Colladium SMSF Gateway, has made a pitch for funds using services that will close, offering them a new instant electronic service address (ESA) to ensure they remain compliant with SuperStream requirements.

Colladium was recently added to the ATO’s register and is one of nine active messaging providers after the regulator announced Australia Post and SuperChoice would cease offering services in the coming weeks.

“As the Australia Post SMSF Gateway and SuperChoice’s SMSF messaging service approach closure, many SMSFs are seeking a new ESA provider to continue receiving super contributions,” the firm stated.

“The Colladium SMSF Gateway is ideal, giving these customers a seamless transition with no disruption to their contributions.

“Those who manage SMSFs can instantly obtain an electronic service address when they register for the service, start receiving employer contributions immediately and stay compliant with the ATO’s SuperStream requirements.”

The Colladium service will run on the MessageXchange platform, which is an ATO-accredited SuperStream provider and a member of the Gateway Network Governance Body, which was created to ensure superannuation funds met the SuperStream transaction standards.

The firm said its new service will allow users to obtain a new ESA instantly, receive super contributions securely and without interruption, and download a pre-filled form to update employers on the new ESA.

On an ongoing basis, users would also have visibility and control over all SMSF contributions from a single dashboard, be able to view contribution amounts, dates, breakdowns and payment reference numbers, and search, filter and export contribution data for reporting and reconciliation.

Colladium managing director John Delaney added: “Accountants are under increasing pressure to do more than just process SMSFs. They’re expected to provide higher-value advice. At the same time, trustees don’t want to be caught up in administration. They want confidence their fund is compliant and working for them.

“With Colladium, we’re making compliance simple and easy to manage, so both firms and their clients can focus on what matters most.

“By using the Colladium SMSF Gateway, accountants can ensure business continuity and manage multiple funds from an easy-to-use web-based platform, without any software migration or IT updates required.”

The gateway commenced operations on 23 March and is currently offering a discounted annual rate for funds that register by 1 June.
