OpenInvest unveils Vietnamese community offer

OpenInvest has joined with a Sydney adviser to provide an online investment tool offering specialised portfolio options for members of the Vietnamese community.

Digital investment platform OpenInvest has worked with a Sydney-based financial adviser to launch an online wealth management tool targeted at Australia’s Vietnamese community.

The new offering, Vietinvest.au, was developed by Infinitezephyr director Dean Nguyen and will offer four investment portfolios: balanced, growth, high growth and ElectricFAI (future, electrics and artificial intelligence).

The high-growth portfolio will provide exposure to multi-factor investing, screening for quantitative factors such as quality, dividend, value and economic moat, while the ElectricFAI option will target companies involved in developing industries such as robotics, technology, gaming, AI and cybersecurity.

Nguyen said the Vietinvest.au solutions had been developed to help a broader part of the Vietnamese community than could be served under traditional advice models.

“The Australian-Vietnamese community is now approximately 400,000 strong. We are a community that attaches great importance to education, entrepreneurialism and family business and, of course, to saving and investing to build long-term wealth for our families,” he said.

“With Vietinvest.au, my team and I will now be able to reach a much broader audience as anyone can sign themselves up within minutes to access our professionally managed investment portfolios.

“We are particularly enthusiastic about reaching younger members of the Australian-Vietnamese community, those just starting out on their wealth-building journeys. They have the ambition, however, don’t yet have a sufficient pool of investable assets to justify the high cost of traditional personal financial advice.”

OpenInvest head of distribution Ravi Verma said the launch of Vietinvest.au created more access to advice for the average person.

“We feel very proud to have been selected by yet another entrepreneurial financial adviser wanting to reach and assist the broader mass market of Australia’s unadvised with an online investing and content solution,” Verma said.

“Rather than solely focusing on HNW (high net worth) clients, Dean and his colleagues now have an offering for every sort of client and an efficient online means to nurture the next generation of HNW clients.”
