Accurium has expanded its education offering, adding a tax trainer and former SuperConcepts staffer to support growth in its services to accountants.

Accurium has launched a new education platform and expanded its education offering to include taxation, recruiting a former SuperConcepts staffer and tax education expert to support the changes.

The Accurium Education platform will consolidate the firm’s SMSF and tax resources, online training, interactive courses, in-house training and technical helpdesk in a single space for users.

The new platform will house Accurium’s expanded education resources, which alongside its current SMSF content will now include a comprehensive professional development offering focused on tax for accountants.

The helpdesk is also a new addition built to provide practical advice on taxation and superannuation issues to accounting practices and has been launched in response to labour shortages, changing regulations and increased client demands within the accounting sector, according to Accurium.

To support these changes, Accurium has appointed former SuperConcepts senior SMSF technical specialist Anthony Cullen as senior SMSF educator, who will support the head of SMSF education Mark Ellem, and Lee-Ann Hayes as head of tax education. Hayes has been a tax trainer for more than 25 years and was most recently head of client engagement at TaxBanter.

Accurium managing director Doug McBirnie said the firm’s provision of superannuation education for more than 10 years meant it was well placed to address the education needs of its accounting clients.

“Over 4000 accounting firms trust us for their actuarial certificates and SMSF CPD (continuing professional development). They know us for our approachable expertise and efficient online delivery, and we are bringing these same attributes to our education offering. Professional development doesn’t have to be a chore or box-ticking exercise. Our training aims to be engaging, practical and provide tangible benefits to our clients’ businesses,” McBirnie said.
