Heffron will offer free membership of the SMSF Association to students who complete its course for those new to the sector.

SMSF administration and education firm Heffron will offer students who complete its industry entry-level course a free period of membership with the SMSF Association (SMSFA).

Heffron said students who complete its Super Foundations course would be able to claim a period of membership with the SMSFA in either the associate or affiliate membership categories, which will run until 31 March of the following calendar year.

The SMSFA stated on its website that its membership cycle runs from 1 April to 31 March and the complimentary membership offer was available to those who had completed the course and were not current financial members of the association.

The course, launched in February, is designed for new SMSF accountants, administrators and auditors, trainee paraplanners and new business services accountants and is offered in two forms online at a minimum cost of $330 per person.

Heffron managing director Meg Heffron said the course had already been adopted by SMSF firms and the complimentary membership would keep SMSF practitioners up-to-date with developments in the sector and join them to the SMSF community.

“We are really pleased to see so many businesses integrate Super Foundations into their staff onboarding strategy already. It’s allowed specialists to focus their time on servicing clients and have the comfort that their new starters are getting comprehensive, up-to-date training,” Heffron said.

“We are excited to partner with the SMSF Association with this premium offer for Super Foundations graduates. This is a wonderful opportunity for those new to the SMSF sector to grow their expertise and build connections in the industry.”
