Adelaide-based SMSF audit firm ASF Audits has announced the acquisition of the Deloitte SMSF auditing business, effective from 30 June.
ASF Audits managing director Richard Smith described the acquisition as a logical decision due to the alignment of vision and values between the two companies.
“We are focused on additional growth through strategic acquisitions, in addition to the double-digit growth we have been achieving through sales and partnering with our clients on their own growth plans,” Smith told selfmanagedsuper.
“We approach acquisitions in the same way as everything else we do in the business – ensuring it is aligned to our values, it is in line with our overall strategy and enhances our offering to the industry.
“Deloitte has been a leader in the SMSF industry for a number of years and has a very experienced team who will be joining us. Deloitte’s professional approach during this process aligned closely with our own company values of respect, collaboration and excellence.
“In addition, Deloitte’s focus on quality and technology was integral to our interest in acquiring their SMSF audit business as it is also aligned to our vision.”
He extended a welcome to the seven team members who will transition to ASF Audits from Deloitte and said the acquisition will enable the firm to expand its reach, now overseeing the audit of over 50,000 funds.
“We look forward to the team joining us and being able to provide them opportunities for personal growth within ASF Audits,” he noted.
“We will continue to partner with key stakeholders in the industry as we believe that collaboration is key to our success. We will now audit over 50,000 funds, which represents over 8 per cent of the total SMSFs.”
