The Stockbrokers and Investment Advisers Association (SIAA) has partnered with Accurium to provide superannuation-related training to its members.
The new arrangement will replace the SIAA’s previous in-house training and offers specialist knowledge for its members looking to provide general advice on superannuation or those looking to add a specialist knowledge area to existing credentials.
According to the course description, the training will provide “the specialist knowledge and skills necessary to understand, navigate and advise on superannuation”, including SMSFs, and will be presented through 12 interactive learning modules that provide 20 continuing professional development (CPD) hours.
Those hours include nine hours of technical competence CPD, five hours of regulatory compliance and consumer protection CPD, five hours of general training and one hour of tax (financial) advice CPD.
The SIAA stated it strongly endorses the Accurium Superannuation Overview Course and its completion would provide members with an SIAA superannuation accreditation.
The partnership with Accurium expands the list of education providers working with SIAA, which currently includes the Australian Securities Exchange, broking platform Ausiex, MBA education provider Ducere, markets infrastructure provide FinClear, investment managers JP Morgan and Macquarie, and investment platform Netwealth.
