Smarter SMSF has appointed Tim Miller to the new position of SMSF Technical and Education Manager with the role commencing next week that will include making a presentation at the SMSF Association National Conference.
Miller will officially start with Smarter SMSF on 20 February and joins after a three-year stint at SuperGuardian where he had been education manager since September 2019. Prior to that he was part of the Cavendish and AMP SMSF teams, as well as running his own business in Adelaide.
Smarter SMSF chief executive Aaron Dunn said the move would expand the firm’s continuing professional development (CPD) and education capabilities.
“This is a significant appointment for Smarter SMSF and its members,” Dunn noted.
“Tim is well-known and highly respected for his views within the SMSF industry, and he adds great strength to our technical and education offering, which is a core focus of our business,” he added, pointing to Miller’s previous industry experience and the opportunity to further develop his expertise at Smarter SMSF.
According to Dunn the Miller’s recruitment comes at an important time in the growth of the business.
“We have a range of innovative projects lined up across our platform, with our documents and CPD solutions throughout 2023. Bringing Tim into the business at this time, gives us the resources we need to successfully execute on our ambitious growth strategy.
Miller anticipated there will be fantastic opportunities ahead for both parties as they share similar values and a great passion for the industry.
“I believe Aaron has created a best of breed platform, delivering education and documents for SMSF professionals,” he said.
Dunn confirmed the specifics of Miller’s role would be released to Smarter SMSF clients in the next few weeks but, speaking during a webinar today, said his appointment would give himself the ability to focus on the firm’s provision of fund documents and their integration with sueprannuation software tools.
Miller will co-present alongside Dunn at the SMSF Association National Conference in Melbourne next week and during Smarter SMSF’s one-day technical events which will be held around the country during March and April.
