OpenInvest has partnered with a Sydney-based investor trading platform to assist it in the rollout of a digital investing solution that will provide access to three investment portfolios and market commentary.
The Melbourne-based investment platform stated it had joined with Market Matters for the launch of Market Matters Invest and the release of online versions of its Active High Conviction Portfolio, Income Portfolio and Emerging Companies Portfolio.
The portfolios will be managed by Market Matters and overseen by senior portfolio manager James Gerrish, who said the decision to launch a digital investment solution was made to give investors a more efficient way to follow the approach and actions taken by Market Matters.
“It’s a very simple digital sign-up process and thereafter we will manage the client’s portfolio for them, undertaking all trades, providing regular commentary and thorough reporting, accessible via our app,” Gerrish said.
He added the launch follows increased interest in stock market investing and the release of a number of trading apps that promoted cheap brokerage.
“Investing is a complex business, full of risks and uncertainties – as the current geopolitical environment makes all too clear – and we believe Australian retail investors benefit from having a full-time, well-resourced team in their corner,” he said.
“Cheap brokerage is nice, but what’s more important is what you’re investing in, when to rebalance and reweight portfolios, and how to get diversification right.”
OpenInvest head of distribution Ravi Verma said his firm was pleased to be working with an experienced and credible portfolio management and content team at Market Matters.
“James and his team have an excellent reputation in financial markets and high levels of engagement and trust with their large audience of retail investors. We’re proud to be playing our role in underpinning the Market Matters Invest solution,” Verma said.
The partnership is the third OpenInvest has signed this year following a similar arrangement with SWU Online Invest and Mackay Private.
