Dates for final adviser exams announced

ASIC adviser exam

ASIC has announced the final dates in which financial advisers can undergo the exam after FASEA transferred its powers to the regulator last year.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has announced the final three financial adviser exam dates for 2022, which have been made available for planners that had unsuccessfully attempted to pass the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) last year.

ASIC stated the first sitting of the exam in 2022, sitting 16 will take place from 12 May until 16 May, and potential candidates have between 4 April and 26 April to enrol. The next exam, Sitting 17, will be held from 28 July until 1 August, with enrolments open from 20 June until 12 July.

The final exam in 2022 has been scheduled to be held only on 3 November 2022, and enrolment will be open from 23 September until 13 October.

ASIC added that information on how to enrol for the exams has been made accessible via its website and questions should be directed to ASIC’s Customer Contact Centre.

“You can contact ACER at [email protected] regarding any queries about booking and sitting the exam, and to request a re-mark of the written response questions. For further information, refer to the Candidate Information Booklet which is accessible through the ACER portal for the exam.”

ASIC has also encouraged exam candidates to review its resources dealing with its exam policy; remote proctoring procedures; and exam preparation and practice questions.

Late last year, Superannuation, Financial Services and the Digital Economy Minister Jane Hume said the exam would be offered to candidates that made two attempts to pass the exam prior to the 31 December 2021 deadline.
