SMSF administration, software and education provider SuperConcepts has appointed Grant Christiansen permanently as its chief executive, effective from 1 July.
Christiansen has filled the role of interim chief executive for the past six months since the departure of his predecessor, Lara Bourguignon, in December 2020.
According to AMP platforms director Edwina Maloney, the decision to appoint Christiansen to the role in a permanent capacity came after a competitive selection process.
“I appreciate that the SuperConcepts business has undergone a period of significant change over the last few years,” Maloney said.
“Grant’s appointment will mean a seamless transition and no disruption to our customers and, with his extensive experience, Grant will provide stability and entrepreneurship to the SuperConcepts team.”
The appointment continues Christiansen’s stint with SuperConcepts that to date has spanned 15 years.
He began his time at the SMSF service provider at Supercorp, which established the SuperMate administration platform. In his decade-and-a-half period with the organisation, he has managed both administration and technology departments of the business at executive level.
Christiansen described his selection as permanent SuperConcepts chief executive as exciting.
“Our company has a history and passion not matched by many in our industry and I am excited to lead our staff into this next chapter of our growth,” he said.
“My focus is on our clients and challenging the complexity and costs of running an SMSF through continued innovation using our unique position as the leading SMSF provider.”
Maloney expressed her absolute confidence the SuperConcepts business will thrive under the stewardship of Christiansen.
“This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for SuperConcepts and the board is looking forward to working with Grant to ensure SuperConcepts continues to grow as Australia’s largest SMSF provider,” she said.
