SuperMate platform set for relaunch

SuperMate relaunch

SuperConcepts will relaunch its SuperMate SMSF administration platform with an overhaul of the functionality it provides to clients through improved use of technology.

SuperConcepts has announced it will relaunch its SuperMate SMSF administration platform later this year, involving an overhaul of the functionality it will provide to clients through improved use of technology.

“We want to be the leading application for efficiency and simplification in the SMSF and portfolio space,” SuperConcepts interim chief technology officer Andy Forbes said during an Accounting Business Expo webinar held today.

“We’re putting everything we know about great software, SMSF administration and cutting-edge technology into this project.

“Everything we’ve done before is history. This is a fresh take at admin software.”

According to Forbes, expanding the software’s capability to service a greater number of asset classes is one of the key improvements that will be made to the new SuperMate offering.

“It is becoming easier for people to invest in offshore markets, so we’re setting up data feeds and making sure our software makes this as painless as possible. Handling foreign currency won’t be a problem in the new SuperMate,” he revealed.

The relaunched version of the platform will also be able to accommodate automated data collection with regard to assets such as residential property, personal use assets and cryptocurrencies.

In addition, users of the new SuperMate will have the ability to execute documents digitally.

“Electronic signings are one of those things that are becoming a must-have. It just makes everything so much easier. We’re looking at multiple providers for electronic signatures because we want to give [users] some choice of who they choose and we want to make it seamless,” Forbes noted.

After the relaunch, there will be two versions of the administrative platform in the market, with the existing service being relabelled SuperMate Classic. There will be no requirement for current clients to become users of the new software.

Forbes acknowledged the relaunched offering will cost more than the existing service, but said associated cost savings should also result.

“Yes, there will be a licence fee increase for the new SuperMate … but we hope to make the new SuperMate so amazing that there will not be a bone of contention about paying the extra money [because] it’s going to save you that and more in processing speed,” he said.
