Topdocs offers free COVID-19 relief documents

Topdocs COVID-19 relief documents

Financial advisers will have free access to COVID-19 relief documents for SMSFs under a new offer from document provider Topdocs.

Topdocs will offer documents related to early access of superannuation funds from an SMSF and rental relief for SMSF landlords at no cost to all financial advisers across Australia.

The COVI-19 relief measure documents are available from the Topdocs’ website and do not require a pre-existing relationship with the firm for use, but advisers will have to set up a free member account to access them.

Information on Topdocs’ website states the early access documentation will include the member request and trustee confirmation required for an SMSF to pay a benefit to the member following their receipt of a positive determination from the ATO.

The rental relief documentation will include the request from the lessor for rental relief, the consideration of the trustees in relation to the rental relief, and the trustee resolution to grant the relief, as well as an explanatory memorandum.

Each set of documents will integrate with BGL Simple Fund 360, Class and SuperMate and can be used with any trust deed as long as it contains the requisite early access to superannuation provisions.

Topdocs director Michael Spakman said: “We’ve been hard at work putting together documentation to enable advisers to assist their clients to make use of the government’s early access to super and rental relief provisions.

“We’re all in this together and this is one way Topdocs is looking to assist advisers and their clients during this pandemic.

“In line with all documents we provide, our COVID-19 documentation is fully tailored for each transaction, not just a kit, so advisers will receive fully prepared documents for each fund they require it for.”

Late last year the firm upgraded its estate planning capabilities to offer advisers documentation created by Topdocs or by lawyers under a new partnership with a legal services hub.
