SuperConcepts will offer free e-books to people impacted by recent changes to superannuation and pensions as a result of COVID-19.

SuperConcepts has released two free e-books detailing the changes to early access to superannuation and support for retirees accessing funds from an account-based pension included in the federal government’s coronavirus relief package.

The two e-books have been produced by the SuperConcepts technical education team and use a series of questions to provide information about the changes, when they will take place, who is eligible and how people can apply, as well as any impact on other sources of income or benefits.

SuperConcepts technical education services general manager Peter Burgess noted the government’s second coronavirus stimulus package, released a week ago, included important relief measures for superannuation members.

“The SuperConcepts technical team has released two e-books which provide answers to some common questions about the new temporary compassionate ground early super release measure and the reduced drawdown rates for retirees,” Burgess said.

He said the e-books were being provided free of charge to “assist individuals understand how these new measures work and to ensure the individuals who are eligible for these measures, and could benefit from these measures, receive the relief these measures where designed to provide”.

The e-books will be updated as more information and guidance are released by the government and expand the range of free e-books available on the SuperConcepts website to 10.
