Kaplan Professional has partnered with Deloitte professional standards and ethics specialist and former Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) chief executive Dr Deen Sanders to create three bridging courses aligned to the FASEA curriculum.
If FASEA approval is granted, Kaplan Professional will offer enrolments for an Ethics and Professionalism in Financial Advice course in July and two other bridging courses in September, being Financial Advice Regulatory and Legal Obligations, and Behavioural Finance: Client and Consumer Behaviour, Engagement and Decision Making.
The bridging course subjects will also form part of the professional education and training provider’s Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning.
Kaplan Professional chief executive Brian Knight said: “Together, we have assembled a team of market-leading academic and practitioner experts to build out these bridging courses. This includes Sydney University behavioural scientists, and legal and professional ethics leaders from both Sydney University and the University of New South Wales.
“All advisers will have to complete a least one bridging course to meet the requirements, so we want to make this a valuable and engaging experience. It is imperative advisers gain practical and relevant outcomes that will benefit their career in the years to come for the betterment of not only themselves, but the Australian public they serve.”
Knight added Sanders would provide insight from his time at FASEA and an understanding of the professionalisation program within the Corporations Act.
He also said the involvement of Deloitte would ensure the courses were best-in-breed and went beyond the norm of what was available in the market.
