The OpenInvest platform has increased the number of wealth managers on its investment menu with the addition of Clime Investment Management, which has released its first retail products through the platform.
Clime is the seventh manager to join the platform since it was launched in late 2018 and will provide retail investors with access to its Defensive Income, Sustainable Income, Robust Growth and Maximum Growth portfolios.
The OpenInvest platform, which is pitched at SMSF trustees and other self-directed investors, currently also has fund offerings from Schroders, Shaw and Partners, SGH Hiscock, JBWere, InvestSense and Macquarie Investment Management.
Clime chief executive Rod Bristow said the manager had previously focused on wholesale and sophisticated investors and joining the list of managers on the platform was an important development for the firm.
“It’s becoming quite evident that self-directed investors, and especially self-managed super fund trustees, want ease of access to professional investment managers, and that is what the OpenInvest platform offers,” Bristow said.
“To date, our primary focus has been in the wholesale and sophisticated investor market spaces and our presence on the OpenInvest platform gives us an opportunity to extend our service offering to the retail market, responding to investor demand for quality investment solutions provided by market specialists.
“The added advantage of the platform is the transparency it provides investors, who will now have the opportunity to browse the site and research the investment styles across different managers, allowing for a genuine ‘apples and apples’ comparison.”
OpenInvest co-founder and chief executive Andrew Varlamos said the development of the platform was a logical step for self-directed investors who also wanted quality investment information.
