Macquarie Investment Management (MIM) has been added to the OpenInvest platform and will add its investment portfolios to the menu available to SMSF trustees.
MIM joins Schroders, Shaw and Partners, SG Hiscock, investsense, Clime and JBWere on the platform.
OpenInvest chief executive Andrew Varlamos said: “The investment management industry has the expertise and experience to assist self-directed investors and we are very happy Macquarie has joined in this exciting industry initiative.”
The platform, which was launched in November 2018, has been pitched at SMSF trustees, according to Varlamos, who said they wanted help but also wanted to remain in control.
“We have designed and built OpenInvest for these investors: we are independent and conflict-free, and offer content, engagement and choice,” he said.
“In a post-royal commission environment, there are even more investors who want help with their investments, but don’t know who they can trust or where they can go to find the professional assistance they need.”
