Charter Hall partners with education platform

Charter Hall Direct has partnered with independent investment information platform Informed Investor to provide educational content.

The firm, which is part of property investment and funds management group Charter Hall, said it formed the partnership to “highlight benefits” of unlisted commercial property.

Informed Investor partners with financial product and financial services providers to publish product information on a non-aligned platform.

The firm aims to increase investors’ and advisers’ knowledge of Australian commercial property markets and investment products based on this asset class.

Informed Investor chief executive Tim McGowen said Charter Hall Direct has joined other investment industry names on the platform.

“We are working together to create digital content which will be used as an aid to better understand the product disclosure statements individual investment products must produce,” McGowen said.

“We also use tools like videos and quizzes to measure this understanding, in addition to offering CPD (continuing professional development) points to financial advisers.”

Charter Hall Direct head Steven Bennett said his firm was pleased to produce educational content to reduce financial complexity.

“The Informed Investor platform was developed to provide a greater depth of information and education to both investors and the financial adviser community,” Bennett said.

“This is strongly aligned with our aspirations to offer knowledge and education of the institutional commercial property markets, investment pathways and retirement savings.”

Charter Hall Group has almost $22 billion under management in Australian real estate investment trusts, direct property funds or unlisted property funds, unlisted wholesale funds and private syndicates.
