Class hire to drive data feed innovation

Class has announced the appointment of high-profile financial services figure Tom Sargent to the role of feeds operations manager to drive innovation and growth in the delivery of data feeds to accountants, administrators, planners and clients.

Sargent has a background in strategising and delivering disruptive, leading-edge technology solutions for financial intermediaries and their clients.

He has over 30 years of end-to-end experience, including in retail banking, funds management operations, wrap platforms and operations management.

Sargent spent over 20 years at Macquarie Bank, including seven years as head of third-party connectivity and integration.

“We’re delighted to welcome Tom to the Class team. Having someone of his calibre join the organisation is a huge coup for the business,” Class chief executive Kevin Bungard said today.

“With the new payments platform and open banking initiatives underway, we’re seeing the data feeds area evolve very quickly.

“Delivering data feeds in a way that is audited and reliable is critical to the efficiency of accounting firms and underpins the industry move towards digital SMSFs. Tom will lead innovation in this area.”

Commenting on his appointment, Sargent said: “Class is a highly respected leader in the SMSF industry and a recognised innovator in the area of data feeds and compliance.

“I’m very excited to be joining such a progressive team of people and to bring my expertise to the table.”

Class pioneered direct-connect data feeds in the industry and has achieved ASAE 3402 Type I and Type II certification, an Auditing and Assurance Standards Board benchmark that provides SMSF auditors with the assurance that Class has controls in place within its data feeds system that manage the security, integrity and availability of data.
