CAANZ appoints AccountantsIQ to policy role

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) has appointed accounting services provider AccountantsIQ as its financial advisory services senior policy adviser.

AccountantsIQ will deliver policy advocacy and member practice support services in consultation with CAANZ’s leader of financial advisory services and key stakeholders.

The appointment comes at a challenging period for accountants who provide financial advice in light of changes to the regulatory licensing regime and legislative reforms to superannuation.

AccountantsIQ founder and director Bronny Speed said the changes had impacted on accountants regardless of whether they held an Australian financial services licence or not as the boundaries blurred between financial advice, tax advice and normal compliance work.

“This is an exciting appointment as the role with CAANZ will dovetail perfectly with the current services we offer to accountants who are working within the licensing world,” Speed said.

AccountantsIQ will focus on providing advocacy on financial advisory services policy priorities and ongoing support for licensed and unlicensed members who provide financial advice, including practical information, education, training and professional development.
