SuperConcepts expands SA footprint

Specialist SMSF service provider SuperConcepts has announced it will be increasing the size of its South Australian-based operation, with an additional 55 jobs created in its Adelaide office.

Support for the move will be coming from the South Australian government in the form of $1.6 million in funding sourced from the Economic Investment Fund.

Apart from running an office in Adelaide, the SMSF firm has an established relationship with organisations, such as the University of Adelaide Business School, through which accredited qualifications are provided.

This partnership has also resulted in research projects delivering insights into the SMSF sector.

Commenting on the development, South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill said: “We’re thrilled SuperConcepts has decided to expand its operations in Adelaide, creating more than 50 jobs for South Australians in the process.

“It demonstrates confidence in our state’s future and the state government’s support of growing industries.”

South Australian Investment and Trade Minister Martin Hamilton-Smith predicted the expansion of SuperConcepts’ Adelaide operation will lead to the city becoming the national hub for SMSF administration, considering it is also home to the SMSF Association’s headquarters.

SuperConcepts chief executive Natasha Fenech said it was exciting to be expanding the organisation’s presence in Adelaide.

“This agreement represents another step forward for the SuperConcepts business and will be a foundation for further growth and investment in South Australia,” Fenech said.

“We will continue to invest to expand and evolve our offering to both build our presence in South Australia and so we can deliver greater efficiency both for our business and for our customers through innovative, simple and cost-effective solutions.”

The move was welcomed by SMSF Association chief executive John Maroney as was the state government’s financial backing of the SMSF sector.

“We see continued growth opportunities for the SMSF community in South Australia and look forward to the expansion of the region as an SMSF hub in the years ahead,” Maroney said.
