The SMSF Association has appointed Craig Jameson as its corporate development general manager, with the professional body’s expansion into the trustee market an important aspect of his new job.
Based in Sydney, Jameson’s main focus will be on professional members.
SMSF Association chief executive Andrea Slattery said his impressive skill set would allow him to continue to build the association’s corporate development at all levels.
“What is critically important in this commercial development role is to have a firm understanding of the SMSF sector and Craig certainly has this having worked for AMP and ANZ in senior executive roles and board positions in their SMSF divisions,” Slattery said.
“He has also worked for ING Australia, the Belle Property Group and Tower Group in positions that have expanded his knowledge of not just SMSFs but the entire financial services industry.”
A lawyer by profession, Jameson said he was honoured to be appointed to the position in an organisation that was widely recognised as the “thought leader and voice” of the SMSF sector.
“Over the years I have watched the important role that the association plays in advocacy, education and improving professional skills across the sector, and to now have the opportunity to be an integral part of this team is an exciting career move,” he said.
“I believe my experience in the SMSF sector and financial services generally equips me to play my part in ensuring the association remains the peak body for SMSFs.”
