BT delivers first phase of SMSF offering

BT Financial Group (BTFG) has launched the key features of its new SMSF administration service, BT Panorama SMSF, which was scheduled to be rolled out early next year.

From today, advisers, accountants and their clients can use the fully integrated system to collaborate on the establishment and management of SMSF accounts.

The new solution will offer access to the full range of investment options available on BT Panorama, supported by services that will help streamline the fund establishment process for individual trustees.

This initial rollout also includes administration features that will allow advisers, accountants and clients to access the documents and statements they need to manage a fund, in real-time with joint access capability.

Other key features are a secure online document library, the production of individual member contribution statements and the ability to upload external assets, such as property, onto the platform for a whole-of-fund view.

BT platforms and operations general manager John Shuttleworth said advisers knew there was no such thing as a typical client and SMSFs were not really self-managed.

“SMSF clients don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach, given the diverse range of needs and preferences that these clients have,” Shuttleworth said today.

“Recognising this, BT Panorama delivers SMSF clients a flexible solution where advisers can pick and choose what works for their clients and their business model.

“Managing an SMSF involves collaboration between accountants, advisers and their clients, so we have built a system that brings them together.”

The group also announced BT Panorama now offered a complete investment menu with the addition of listed securities to its existing range of investment options: BT cash, term deposits, managed portfolios and managed funds.

“With the launch of our SMSF offer and the ability to trade a wide range of Australian Securities Exchange-listed equities and exchange-traded funds, BT Panorama is now attractive to a whole new set of clients,” Shuttleworth said.

BTFG announced in November that it was launching an SMSF solution.
