Westover to depart CAANZ

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) has announced its head of superannuation Liz Westover will leave the body next month, with the search for her replacement underway.

Westover will relocate to Melbourne after six years with CAANZ.

Her last day will be 4 November.

Westover said on LinkedIn today: “After six years with CAANZ, I have resigned my position as head of superannuation.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed representing my professional association on all things superannuation, but am now looking for new challenges and opportunities in my new home town of Melbourne.”

CAANZ head of leadership and advocacy Rob Ward said: “We wish Liz well for her future. She is an expert in her field and we know she will continue to make an excellent contribution to superannuation.”

CAANZ confirmed to selfmanagedsuper that a search for Westover’s replacement had begun.

Westover joined CAANZ in August 2009 and she has been responsible for the organisation’s policy development, advocacy and leadership across all facets of superannuation, including SMSFs.

She has been an active spokesperson for CAANZ and regularly provided commentary on superannuation issues, as well as consulted with government, regulators and stakeholders on technical, legislative and policy matters.

Westover is a member of the ATO’s Superannuation Industry Advisory Group.

She was previously a senior manager at KPMG and was also Nexia Australia Chartered Accountants superannuation manager for over nine years.
