Accountable selects OneVue platform

Accountable Financial Group (AFG) has signed OneVue as its digital platform provider, which will help deliver investment and superannuation product solutions tailored to its scalable advice solutions for accountants in practice.

The deal, announced last week, will allow AFG to better support its accountants in servicing individuals, SMSFs, trusts, not-for-profits, businesses and family groups.

“The majority of accountants in practice have never been authorised under a licence nor had any connection with a platform provider,” AFG executive director Tony Zulli said.

“Yet they are interested in having a discussion on how they can offer products and services that are relatively simple and easy to deliver to their clients.”

AFG’s model was structured to deliver advice, product and training solutions for accountants and tax advisers in the changing regulatory environment, Zulli said.

The business was dedicated to responding to the specific needs of practising accountants and their clients, he added.

The arrangement comes following the OneVue/Investment Trends “2015 SMSF Accountant Report”, which revealed simplicity of use and good tax reporting facilities were the two most commonly sought factors by accountants when choosing a platform to manage SMSFs.

The survey also found that from the 38,000 accountants in public practice, about 87 per cent were advising on SMSFs, but only 8 per cent currently held Australian financial services licences.

AFG is an independent provider of financial advice, training and product and services solutions to accountants.

It has a licensing and advice solution designed specifically for busy accountants.

Earlier this month, advisory and funds management business Aura Group announced it had purchased a majority stake in AFG, which provided capital for AFG to grow its business aggressively before the removal of the accountants’ exemption.

Zulli told selfmanagedsuper AFG’s mandate would not change.

“In fact, we’re being encouraged to go out there and pursue more and more accounting firms,” he said.
