Broking house launches watch app

Online brokerage firm Bell Direct has developed an application for the Apple Watch, allowing its clients to monitor the performance of their investment portfolios via a timepiece.

Apart from giving individuals the ability to check the progress of their investments, the new app includes specific screens allowing clients to identify new market opportunities and receive detailed Australian Securities Exchange pricing quotes. Users of the application will also be able to nominate favourite stocks to facilitate faster access to information about these equities.

“We’re continuously looking to identify innovative, smarter ways in which we can help our clients manage their trading and investing,” Bell Direct chief operating officer Lee Muco said.

“We’re striving to make investing as smart and effortless as possible.

“Apple has said that its watch is their most personal device ever and similarly we believe that for our clients there are few things more personal than taking control of their financial future.

“We saw great promise in the potential for the Apple Watch to make many aspects of our daily lives a little more effortless. With that in mind, we set about developing a simple and elegant app for the watch to facilitate portfolio monitoring.”

While the original version of the app has only just been launched, Bell Direct is already looking to add new features to it, including the ability to provide smart notifications and a facility that will enable client feedback.
