Bendzulla Actuarial now Accurium

The leading SMSF actuarial certificate provider, Bendzulla Actuarial, has rebranded and will now be known as Accurium.

In conjunction with the name change, the company will now also be providing services to better support SMSF members in the retirement phase of superannuation.

“Our core business will always be actuarial certificates, but with millions of baby boomer SMSF trustees retiring over the next decade, there’s also a real, unmet need for actuarial and risk consulting services specific to their predicament,” Accurium chief executive Tracy Williams said.

“A higher starting balance definitely helps protect SMSFs from the unique risks of retirement – but it doesn’t grant them immunity, especially when you consider that most expect higher-than-average incomes in retirement.

“Accurium will be the only consulting firm focused exclusively on solving the peculiar challenges of SMSFs in the retirement phase, like planning for certainty over an uncertain investment horizon.”

In line with its new retirement-phase initiative, Accurium has launched a new report, “Accurium SMSF Retirement Insights”, covering the topic of retirement savings adequacy. The data for the study was sourced from actual statistics drawn from the firm’s client base of around 60,000 SMSFs.

The retirement savings research will also be made available to Accurium’s 5500 accounting firm clients, along with its new retirement-specific products and tools.

“SMSF practitioners play a critical role in helping their clients prepare for retirement. In addition to certifying their tax-exempt income, Accurium can also help answer questions like: ‘How long might I live, how long do I need to keep working, and how much is enough?’” Williams said.
