The Small Independent Superannuation Funds Association (SISFA) has changed its name and will now be known as the Self-Managed Independent Superannuation Funds Association.
“We believe that the amended name better reflects the new direction that SISFA is pursuing, including direct outreach to trustees and connecting with more advice providers to assist the nearly 1 million trustees who are running their own retirement funds,” SISFA chair Michael Lorimer said.
In conjunction with the name change, the association has appointed Nicholas Brookes as a non-executive director.
Brookes brings 25 years’ financial services experience with him to the position, having previously held senior investment, superannuation and private banking roles in the United Kingdom, Middle East and Australia.
His industry involvement includes being founder and chief executive of CCSL, an independent Australian Prudential Regulation Authority licensed superannuation trustee.
He is a fellow of FINSIA and holds a Melbourne Business School Master’s Degree and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments.
