Financial services giant AMP has appointed Natasha Fenech to the newly created role of managing director for its SMSF business arm, AMP SMSF.
Fenech will take up the role in February next year and will report to AMP chief customer officer Paul Sainsbury, who will continue to have portfolio responsibility for AMP SMSF.
She is currently Suncorp executive general manager for personal insurance customer, product and pricing and has been with the insurance group for seven years in a number of senior roles across personal and commercial insurance.
Fenech was also head of corporate planning and analysis at Citigroup, a senior management consultant at AT Kearney and worked in actuarial positions at Zurich Financial Services and Royal & Sun Alliance.
Sainsbury said the appointment was important for the overall growth of AMP’s SMSF capabilities.
“We are delighted to have someone of Natasha’s calibre on board,” Sainsbury said.
“Her leadership and business experience will be invaluable during a period of growth and development for AMP SMSF.”
Her appointment comes just weeks after AMP SMSF announced it had acquired a 19.4 per cent stake in SMSF administration platform Supermate.
The deal is part of an arrangement between AMP SMSF and Queensland-based administration and superannuation software developer Supercorp to acquire Supercorp’s SMSF business, YourSMSF.
