New SMSF awards finalists named

CoreData today named the finalists for the inaugural CoreData SMSF Service Provider Awards, recognising the best participants in Australia’s largest retirement savings sector.

“These finalists represent an important listing, given the scale of the SMSF segment, together with the fact that SMSF members tend to take a more hands-on approach in looking after their super,” CoreData principal Andrew Inwood said.

“These service providers have clearly shown their value to both SMSF members and their advisers.”

The awards cover six investment and four non-investment categories separately from both a trustee and an adviser perspective.

Some of the more closely followed categories include cash, term deposits, commercial property, residential property loans and administration.

The finalists for cash from a trustee perspective are Macquarie, RaboDirect and UBank, while from an adviser perspective they are AMP, ING Direct and Macquarie.

In the residential property loans category, trustees favoured Bank of Melbourne, St George and Westpac, while Macquarie, NAB and Westpac got the nod from the advice community.

In regard to SMSF administration, trustees gave their approval to Cavendish, eSuper and Your Super Accountant, while advisers indicated their satisfaction with AMP SMSF Solutions, Multiport and Super Concepts.

AMP SMSF Solutions is also a finalist in the accounting software category along with BGL and Class Super.

“The SMSF awards draw on the findings of CoreData’s comprehensive SMSF Service Provider Study, which captures the feedback of 1400 respondents across SMSF members and SMSF advising financial planners and accountants,” CoreData senior consultant Angus Dennis said.

“Service providers gain inclusion on the list based upon both service quality rating and preference with SMSF members and their advisers.”

The winners will be announced at the inaugural CoreData SMSF Service Provider Awards night to be hosted in conjunction with selfmanagedsuper on 13 September at the InterContinental Hotel in Sydney.
