Another month has rolled by and we are little clearer on what may happen in the immediate future to the superannuation landscape. 

At the time of writing this editorial I had been hoping the federal election result would have been done and dusted. But alas as selfmanagedsuper Trustee News goes to print we are no clearer about whether or not the coalition government will be returned or a minority government of some sort will be formed.

Readers of my past editorials will know one of my greatest frustrations with the current superannuation system is the lack of discipline of our elected officials to leave the pool of money from the compulsory savings scheme alone.

So much change to so many superannuation areas was contained in the federal budget it was hard to digest and keep up with on the night.
