Multiport: Flexible offering gets cut through

SMSF Service Provider Awards: SMSF administration

Under the leadership of AMP SMSF administration managing director Andrew Hamilton, Multiport has developed its offering into a modular service to ensure it consistently caters to the differing needs of SMSF clients.

“It’s a cost-effective solution that saves time and money to keep up with the growing regulatory and reporting requirements, plus it helps you provide a proactive service to your clients,” Hamilton says.

Multiport was the winner of the CoreData SMSF award for administration in the SMSF advising financial planner category.

“It’s extremely encouraging that SMSF advisers have voted us the best in administration,” Hamilton, who has over 20 years’ experience in SMSF administration, says.

“The award reflects our expertise in SMSF administration and our people to continually improve the services we offer clients.

“Having the support of AMP has enabled us to invest in people, process and technology to continue to improve our services to clients.”

Multiport was established in 2001, consisting of a team of SMSF specialists working across a number of areas, including client service, fund administration, tax and accounting.

As SMSFs were a complex area where change was constant, Hamilton says the company this year focused on enhancing technology and improving adviser functionality and reporting to streamline administration and compliance. “We see technology as a key enabler to providing advisers and trustees with greater visibility of their SMSFs on a daily basis,” he says.

“We have also enhanced our online console and adviser reporting.”

Multiport is also committed to providing advisers and accountants with access to the latest technical insights from its SMSF experts, AMP SMSF head of policy and technical Peter Burgess and Multiport head of technical services Philip LaGreca, allowing them to manage their SMSF clients with confidence, he says.

“SMSFs are the largest and fastest-growing segment of superannuation today so we are certainly seeing more interest from advisers and trustees alike,” he says.

“Advisers are increasingly looking for solutions to help improve integration of SMSF administration with both the products and services they recommend to their clients and the systems they use within their business to efficiently manage client portfolios.”

He says the company would continue to build scale and efficiency into its SMSF administration systems and processes to deliver an even better service to clients.

On the night of the awards, Multiport head of administration Kylie Kiem accepted the accolade on behalf of the company.
