The Institute of Financial Professionals Australia (IFPA) has added a former Insignia Financial and Colonial First State staffer to its team in the role of senior technical services specialist.
Stuart Sheary has stepped into the role, moving from his previous position as Insignia Financial senior technical services manager after more than seven years, and will join IFPA’s technical team and work alongside head of superannuation and financial services Natasha Panagis.
Sheary will bring 20 years of experience in the financial advice sector to the role, with his previous work at Insignia Financial and as part of the Colonial First State First Tech team involving providing support to advisers on superannuation, SMSFs and social security.
Prior to this, he worked for four financial advice firms and is a certified financial planner and SMSF specialist adviser.
IFPA stated the appointment of Sheary was consistent with its support of practitioners in the tax, superannuation and financial advice sectors and would strengthen its member services, support its professional development and reinforce the value of IFPA membership.
Panagis said: “This appointment enhances our ability to deliver high-quality content and increase our advocacy efforts. Stuart’s wealth of experience will be instrumental in enhancing the depth of our technical resources and services to members.”
Sheary added: “The association’s strong reputation for advancing professionalism and education in the tax, superannuation and financial services space is inspiring and I look forward to contributing to its ongoing success.”
