SMSF audit and technical specialist Shelley Banton has opened consulting business Super Clarity taking on the role of director in the start-up which will specialise in SMSF risk management, compliance strategies, and technical education
She said the new role and business stemmed from her passion for supporting SMSF professionals through the complexities of compliance and regulation.
“My focus will be on helping advisers, accountants, and auditors navigate complex SMSF issues; delivering practical, solutions-driven strategies to manage risk; and providing tailored technical training, webinars, and resources,” Banton explained.
The new firm’s website states the firm will offer consultations services to SMSF professionals in the private and public sectors and the transition to this work follows 18 years of experience in the sector, and 28 years in financial services.
In the new role Banton will continue to produce education content and be a regular contributor to industry conferences and remains a committee member of the ATO SMSF Auditor’s Professional Stakeholders’ Group, a member of the SMSF Association’s Technical Expert Panel and Co-Chairperson of the SMSF Association’s Audit Discussion Group, and a founding member to the SMSF Innovation Council.
The move comes after it was recently confirmed Banton would be leaving ASF Audits having completed an eight-year stint concluding with her most recent role as head of technical services.
