ATO SMSF leader moves on

ATO assistant commissioner SMSFs

The role of ATO assistant commissioner SMSF segment will be pass into new hands from next week as the regulator reassigns a number of key staff.

The ATO has announced Dana Fleming will no longer be its assistant commissioner SMSF segment effective 8 June 2020.

Fleming has been re-assigned to the regulator’s Integrated Compliance area to lead the Intelligence and Assessment Centre. The move ends her near two year stint in the ATO’s main SMSF role.

Steven Keating will fill the position in the interim until a permanent replacement for Fleming can be found.

“I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Dana’s contribution and commitment to the SMSF sector and her consultation with the wider Superannuation Industry to improve the administration of Australia’s superannuation system,” ATO acting deputy commissioner superannuation and employer obligations John Ford said.

“I wish Dana and Steve the very best in their new roles,” he added.
